I grew up in Indiana, raised by parents who loved to travel and nurtured my creative side in photography, writing, and DIY. That creative foundation led me to Purdue University, where I earned my BA in Public Relations and Strategic Communications in 2020 [cite: 2]. I recently returned to Purdue to complete my Master of Science in Marketing [cite: 2]. During my time in the graduate program, I stayed deeply involved on campus, serving as the VP of Events for the Krannert Graduate Marketing Association (KGMA) [cite: 2], acting as a speaker and Banquet Committee member for the Black Graduate Student Association (BGSA), and shooting as a photographer for the Purdue Fashion and Retail Org (FRO).
Professionally, I am now based in Seattle, WA, and have spent the last five years working in PR and marketing with Zeno Group [cite: 2]. I started as a New Business Coordinator—supporting pitch development and performance reporting—before transitioning into a Creator Marketing Account Executive role [cite: 2]. In this space, I managed end-to-end brand partnerships, vetted influencers, negotiated fees, and developed campaign assets for major clients like ALDI, Ulta Beauty, and Citibank [cite: 2].
While I love the agency side of the business, my true passion lies in hands-on content creation. Through Illume Lab, I help produce compelling visual content for other influencers and businesses around the Seattle area. I also leverage my own social media platform to collaborate directly with brands, and I have had the incredible opportunity to partner with Hyatt, Four Seasons, Ryze, Adobe, and Amazon.
At the core of it all is my love for travel and visual storytelling. I channel my skills in photography and videography to build a platform for solo travelers like myself, curating travel guides, editing advice, and social media strategies. Having explored 11 countries and counting—including shooting on-location campaigns in places like Bali, Indonesia [cite: 2]—my goal is to offer guidance and inspiration as a solo traveling Black woman. This platform is my way of bringing all my creative projects together, showcasing my work, and giving you a chance to get to know me.
